This comprehensive MOOC provides an in-depth understanding of Removable Partial Dentures (RPDs), focusing on their role in restoring function, aesthetics, and oral health in partially edentulous patients. Designed for undergraduate dental students, interns, and early postgraduate learners, the course integrates foundational principles with clinical application.

Learners will explore the biological, mechanical, and aesthetic considerations involved in RPD treatment planning. The course covers essential topics including classification of partially edentulous arches, surveying, mouth preparation, components of RPDs, impression techniques, jaw relation records, try-in procedures, insertion, and post-insertion care.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Diagnose and classify partially edentulous cases accurately
  • Design appropriate RPD frameworks based on biomechanical principles
  • Perform clinical and laboratory procedures systematically
  • Identify and manage common complications
  • Develop a patient-centered approach to prosthodontic care

This course aims to bridge the gap between theory and clinical practice, equipping learners with the confidence and competence required for effective RPD treatment.
